Pairing: Aiba Masaki/Ninomiya Kazunari
Rating: pg
Word count: 1702
Summary: Aiba works in an otherwise all female office, which is fine until they decide to hold the annual office party at a host club. Aiba (reluctantly) goes along anyway only to find himself enjoying it a lot.
Aiba cursed his luck. He knew having a job in a company where every person except yourself was female would come back to haunt him. As much as he enjoyed working there, the woman he worked with could be pushy sometimes and Aiba really didn't know how to say no. That was how he found himself in a male host club. It was one of his co-worker’s birthday and she wanted them all to celebrate together in a host club, surrounded by handsome men. Nino, the host that who had assigned himself to Aiba found the whole situation amusing.
“It’s not so bad, especially with you keeping me company.” Aiba muttered shyly.
“Oh, you are something Aiba-san. Why don't you tell me a bit about yourself?”
Aiba eagerly answered, beginning to feel the effects of the alcohol.
“Well I’m 32, single, I enjoy going to different restaurant and trying different foods with my good friend Sho. I work as an interior designer in a small company not that far from here actually. I’m the sole male worker, have been for five years. I think it must be a curse because why would I be the only male to apply to the company in the 15 years it has been around? It’s not so bad, the girls don't treat me any differently, but it would be nice to have at least one other male co-worker. I have two dogs and a cat who prefer being with my neighbor rather than me.”
Nino was amused, as Aiba seemed very content spilling his own life story to him, a complete stranger. Nino wasn't going to lie to himself, he found him adorable. Aiba reminded him of a puppy, and Nino really wanted to take him home. Actually, Nino was only playing host for the night as a favor for his friend Jun, so he could likely get away with it. For now, he was content just listening to Aiba’s cute drunk confessions. He scooted closer to the man, making sure their hips were touching. Aiba had noticed it but he didn’t seem to mind. Instead he wrapped his arm around Nino's waist. This was an interesting development. Before Nino could learn more about him, a woman who was probably Aiba's co-worker interrupted them.
“Come on Aiba-chan, I think it's time we took you home. Sorry about him, he gets really clingy when drunk.” The woman attempted to pull Aiba off Nino, but the man clung tighter to the host, wrapping his other arm around Nino's Shoulder, practically placing himself in his lap.
“Noooo, I don't want to leave Nino!”
Nino was very much enjoying this compromising position Aiba had placed them in, so he then placed his arms too around the other man, bringing him closer. He didn’t want him to leave either, but he knew that if he let this go on any longer, his boss would not let him get away with it. Speaking of which, Nino looked around to his boss looking at him in a very amused way. Nino cursed, Jun would never let him live this down. He reluctantly let go of Aiba.
“Aiba-san, I know you don't wish to leave but you are drunk. If you still remember tonight in the morning come visit me, ok?” Nino whispered so only Aiba could hear. The other man nodded, acknowledging his words and reluctantly letting go of him. Before he could wiggle away, Aiba suddenly grabbed Nino’s face with both hands and leaned down to capture his lips. Nino froze, not expecting the action. Taking full advantage of the situation he kissed back forgetting where they were and who was watching. He hoped the man would remember everything that occurred tonight. Both pulled back gasping for air, faces flushed in embarrassment.
“Alright Aiba-chan, it's definitely time to head home now. I'm really sorry about him.”
This time, Aiba let himself be dragged away, looking very satisfied. Nino stood up, heading out back to freshen up.
“If all it took was you working at the club for a night to find you someone that interests you, I would have asked you to work here years ago.”
“It's only been two years since I broke up with Oh-chan. I don't think I’ll ever be ready for another relationship. Not everyone is like you and Sho-kun. I enjoy being single. You know me.” Jun did know Nino, all too well.
“Maybe you could take this as a sign to finally move on. He was our friend, but he was your boyfriend and what he did was unforgivable. I just want you to be happy, you know that. For your own sake just give it a try.” Jun walked off, leaving Nino to think about his words.
Nino knew that his friend knew why he enjoyed being single, he wasn’t risking his heart being broken. He didn’t think he could deal with it again, not after Ohno.
-
Aiba woke up to a pounding headache and hardly any recollection of last night. He remembered going to the host club and being entertained by the cutest man he had ever seen. Then - oh no! - he had kissed the man. Aiba groaned into the pillow, how could he do something so embarrassing, to a stranger no less. But he didn’t regret it, not one bit.
The other man was a host and Aiba didn’t know anything about him, he didn’t even know his real name. He remembered the words Nino had whispered to him that night. Aiba wondered if he had meant what he had said...
Aiba just wanted to know more about him but he had no way of getting in contact with him outside of going to the club. With his current schedule he really wouldn’t have time to visit the club for at least a few weeks.
He checked the time and realized he was meeting Sho in an hour. Why did he promise to meet his friend when he knew he'd be drinking the night before?
-
“Masaki! It's good to see you again. This is my boyfriend Jun-kun. He owns a host club, and it was how I was able to meet him actually.”
There was something familiar about Sho’s boyfriend, he’d seen him before, but he couldn’t remember where. But a host club… maybe… no, it could be just a coincidence, lots of people owned host clubs.
“Oh, I remember you. You were at my host club last night. Sho, this is the customer who was all over Nino last night.”
Aiba gasped in horror. He didn’t remember seeing Jun at the club last night, but the man clearly remembered him and his drunk cuddling with Nino. He couldn’t believe his luck! Sho would never let him live this down. Aiba was going to tell Sho about the handsome host but he would have left out the details of his drunk activities.
“Masaki, I didn’t know you were so bold~! Somehow this doesn’t surprise me though. He has two modes when drunk. Over emotional and clingy. I have witnessed and been on the receiving end of both modes many times. But Nino letting you openly cuddle him like that, he must like you because he usually hates it when people touch him.”
Aiba didn’t remember a lot of the details of the previous night, but if someone who usually hated physical affection was ok with him being clingy, it could be a sign the other could actually like him.
“I was drunk, ok? I was going to go back to the club and apologize to him for my actions, but I think I’m too embarrassed to do that…”
“Don’t worry about it. Nino was embarrassed too, but he very much enjoyed it, and if my suspicions are right, he would really like to continue what you started. I’m supposed to be meeting him for dinner tonight, so if you want, you can tag along. I’m sure Nino wouldn’t mind seeing you again.”
Tonight?! Aiba wondered if he was prepared to see Nino again after such a short time - not that he didn't want to see him…
“Tonight? If you really think Nino will be ok with seeing me…” Jun simply gave him a reassuring smile.
“Now if we’re done talking about Aiba and Nino how about we order our food?”
-
Aiba was freaking out on the inside. Jun had told him to meet him at the local Chinese restaurant at eight. He was there now, but no Jun or Nino in sight.
“Oi.” Startled, Aiba jumped. He looked over to find himself face to face with Nino.
“I guess this is what Jun meant by a surprise guest. Jun isn’t coming, so it’s just going to be the two of us. I hope you don’t mind.”
Jun must have planned this, Sho likely had a hand in it to. Dinner with Nino alone…
“Is this a date?” Nino snorted, Aiba realized he had said that out loud and not in his thoughts.
“If you want it to be. I know I’d like for it to be a date.”
A date already and they had only met yesterday. To be fair he also had his tongue down Nino’s throat yesterday if Jun’s words were anything to do by.
Once seated, Aiba was unsure of what to say, as he was nervous. Ne never thought he’d end up on a date with Nino. This morning he was unsure if he’d ever see him again after what he did the previous night.
“I’d like to apologize for last night, when I’m drunk, I become very clingy according to my friends.”
Nino waved off his apology.
“It’s fine, the feeling was very mutual, don’t worry. You didn’t want to let go and honestly, I didn’t want you to let go either. I very much enjoyed the kiss, so maybe after dinner we could do it again. And if tonight goes well I wouldn’t say no to a second date…”
Aiba’s head Shot up, was he hearing right?
“I’d like that.”
By the end of the date Aiba got his kiss and a promise of a second date.
