Got it in one. Ohno wasn't even meant to be an unnamed cameo: it was only during editing that I realised that I hadn't actually used his name (because of a 'deleted scene). But at that point I figured that it would be fun to see if anyone noticed him there. 😁 I'm glad you spotted him.
Generally, I don't "do" cutesy nicknames, so it was odd that I chose to write a story that necessitated them, but I hoped the circumstances made it permissable. Also, it never made it into the story, but in my head, Jun had asked Aiba's name that night, but Aiba misheard and told him Kazamas name instead. Then, when Aiba mentioned Kazamas name the next morning, Jun realised he didn't know Aiba's name after all but didn't know how to ask again.
The difference sides to them both, with how they approach work, but both perfectionists in their own ways was something I really wanted to convey. The clash and the cooperation of it. Although it was hard to get it to the point that Matsumoto would actually snap, especially over email or text, both mediums that usually allow for 'breathing space' because you have to type out a reply.
